The Library Book

The Library Book - Alan Bennett, Rebecca Gray A wonderful, inspiring and thought-provoking collection of essays, in praise and support of libraries. As a former librarian and regular library user, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and feel even more strongly after reading it that libraries should not be seen as easy targets for closure and funding cuts, particularly in such troubled economic times as these. My favourite essays were those by Stephen Fry and Zadie Smith, but they're all of interest. Definitely worth buying and reading, especially as profits go the The Reading Agency.
